My Japanese Twitter buddy, 29suguru29 is a hardcore ユデッキー and when I first saw his Kinnikuman collection I knew I had to feature it on Nama Niku. Big thanks to 29suguru29 for providing me with these images - ありがとうございました, GO GO 友情パワー!

The Yoiko Kinkeshi DVD Box Set is an absolute must for any hardcore keshi head. Even if you do not understand a lick of Japanese, the visual display and documentation of the entire original Kinkeshi line is impressive beyond belief. The set is comprised of two DVDs and one of two exclusive 29th anniversary Kinkeshi figures designed by Yoiko.
The program stars the Japanese comedian duo, Yoiko (Arinoand Hamaguchi), and is focused solely on the background, phenomena and celebration of Kinkeshi.
Yoiko basically introduce each figure separately while adding commentary about the history and background of each character. Hamaguchi is a huge Kinnikuman fan and is able to name almost every single figure in the collection. Japanese comedy duo hilarity ensures as the two engage in a battle of words and whit regarding the Kinkeshi marathon they have embarked on.
The duo ends up spending over four hours (no kidding) introducing and commenting on all 418 Kinkeshi individually. There is also an additional hour of bonus material including an exclusive meeting with Shimada-sensei of Yudetamago where he answers 29 of their questions about Kinkeshi.
"The Kannin" designed by Hamaguchi
The program shows the original Daishi for each "part" of the Bandai line, and also features images of the individual capsule inserts. There is also a bonus feature where you can go through and view a high res image of all all 418 keshi individually.
"Kinkeshiman" designed by Arino
The DVD set is available over at Amazon.co.jp starting at only 2,350円 (In new condition) from Amazon Marketplace sellers.
Okay, so these Kinnikuman stickers were not specifically made for the iPhone, but they are small enough to effectively niku-ize the device.
I picked up these adhesive wonders at the BamBam88 Muscle Shop in Kichijoji last year, and have never really thought of a good use for them until now. Gone are the days of Trapper Keepers and book covers for this guy...
While I have never experienced dropped calls from the alleged iPhone antenna snafu, I went ahead and applied a Warsman sticker to the lower left "death grip zone" just to be safe ~ looks better than a strip of duct tape ~ 肉
My buddy, Paco, was in Tokyo last weekend, and hit the Nakano Broadway to score a few Kinnikuman items for me.
Paco using his Gaijin Powers for evil ~ snapping a pic inside the Microkan...ごめんなさい！
The Mandarake Microkan really offers some killer deals on random grab bags of Kinkeshi, and I would highly recommend checking them out if you are ever in the store. The one he ended up snagging me (shown above) included 90 figures and clocked in at only 1,050円.
I was quite impressed with the wide assortment of sculpts, including a few Popy Minis and a couple of sweet boots.
The Geronimo PansonWorks figure was only 312円, and I keep kicking myself for not asking him to grab more stuff...
Interested in ordering a Kinkeshi grab bag for yourself? Contact Mandarake directly, and they can hook you up.
Good news for Kinnikuman fans in Kyushu! The Kinnikuman Muscle Museum is heading to Oita and Kumamato later this month ~ 肉
The Muscle Museums are put on by BamBam88 in conjunction with Studio Egg, and consist of a large offering of Kinnikuman apparel and gear combined with a hearty display of original Kinnikuman artwork and collectibles.
Shimada-sensei has traditionally taken a day or two to do signings at these events, although no dates have been officially announced for these locations.
Kumamoto served as the backdrop for the whole Scramble for the Kinniku Throne arc, so this is a rather meaningful location for Yudetamago and fans of the series.
What better way to start out 2011 on Nama Niku than with a special New Year's Message from Yudetamago!
They are basically thanking all of their fans for their support and dedication as well as looking forward to good things for the Kinnikuman franchise in 2011. They also mention that there will be two Kinnikuman days in 2011 celebrated with Muscle Summits (Friday, April 29th, and Friday, July 29th).
