Ultimate Muscle Vol. 29 ~ The End of an Era

Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy made its manga debut in the good ol' USA on July 5th, 2004.  Seven years, and 29 spectacular volumes later, this sadly underrated series has come to an end.

While the animated Ultimate Muscle series did fairly well in the States, the comic version never quite enjoyed the same success.  As outlined in my interview with Yudetamago last year,  due to declining sales and a few other factors, there are no plans to do an English version of the current Japanese Kinnikuman series (Kyukyoku Choujin Tag).

Now is the time to demonstrate your English speaking Kinniku pride by supporting the 29th, and final volume of Ultimate Muscle!

Even if you do not read Japanese, the action is pretty straightforward and easy to follow.  The artwork and character design for the baddie Thunder is super sick, and I am totally digging the Kevin Mask x Mantaro tag team.  If Japanese is your thing, the storyline is solid, and you will not be disappointed.

Ultimate Muscle Vol. 28 ~ Out Now!

While I have already gone through most of キン肉マンII世 in Japanese, there is nothing quite like an effortless stroll though the same stories in English.  

Viz Media has done a nice job with the series as of late, and it is hard to believe that there is only one more issue left to go in the English Ultimate Muscle series.

While I know there are no plans to release an English version of Kinnikuman Nisei Kyukyoku Choujin Tag, I want to give a big thanks to Viz Media for bringing Nisei to America, and allowing English speaking fans a chance to experience the brilliance of Yudetamago first hand.

Ultimate Muscle Vol 27 Released on 11/2/10

Ultimate Muscle Vol 27 was released last week on 11/2. The cover features the same artwork as the キン肉マン2世 version, and clocks in at 224 pages. This is a fantastic storyline, and I highly recommend picking it up - Robin Specials and Tower Bridges for all the unbelievers!
