The figure is based on a scene from the Seven Devil Choujin arc where Kinnikuman squares off against Buffaloman.  Buffaloman basically rams Kinnikuman's chest, and absorbs all his Burning Inner Strength, causing that mark to appear on his back.

Irate the 80's: Ep 8 - MUSCLE MEN KINNIKUMAN

The Irate Gamer takes on Kinnikuman...

While I appreciate this guy giving the franchise a nod, the information in the episode left a lot to be desired.  Many of the "facts" were loose and sloppy, and his pronunciation of "Kinnikuman" was horrendous.  It was so bad deaf Akuma Choujin everywhere cried out in horror and pain with each slaughtered syllable...

Not a huge fan, but it was worth the watch.

From the genius of wrestling great, Masahiro Chono, comes perhaps one of the most brilliant event ideas of all time:

Kinnikuman x Japanese Pro Wrestling x a Giant Rodízio style Meat Buffet... you cannot make this kind of thing up.  The event will feature a 29 man Battle Royal featuring Japanese and International Pro Wrestlers, with one contender entering the ring every minute. 

Kinnikuman will be serving as the official mascot for the festivities, with Shimada-sensei presenting the champion cup to the winner of the Battle Royal.  There will be plenty of Kinniku merchandise on hand for fans with an amazing buffet to boot.  

The Scramble takes place on January 9th 2012 in Yokohama Japan.  Check out the official event page for further details.  Only in Japan my friends!

Inside the CCP Factory

My visit to the CCP factory in Tokyo was absolutely mind blowing and beyond incredible.   I would like to express sincere thanks to Yudetamago's manager and CCP's President, Endo-san, for making this happen.  The entire CCP crew was amazing and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and generosity!

The detail and care that goes into the construction of CCP figures is second to none.  Their Kinnikuman figures are constructed and hand painted in Tokyo by a team of massively talented artists.

The factory was orderly, clean and efficient.  Everyone working there was focused and proud of their work.  The attention to detail in the production process and true dedication to the Kinnikuman franchise was very apparent.

I am also a big Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman fan, so seeing Kinnikuman in the company of these legendary properties was an added treat. 

How rad is this? Hedora, Gamera and a Warsman surfboard!!

The crowning moment of the visit however was being handed a new Akuma Shogun figure that I watched completed before my very eyes...　

 Gotta love that fresh paint smell!
