Big thanks to Yudetamago for continuing to put out fantastic material and for keeping the Kinniku legacy alive!

I really enjoyed the last big match with Thunder and Lightning and continue to be impressed with the humanity that Mantaro shows his defeated opponents. Very reminiscent of some of the themes in the Kajiba no Kuso-jikara Arc.

Really looking forward to whatever they have in store for us next ~ 肉

Kinnikuman Nisei Choujin Recruitment Collection

Anyone keeping up with the latest chapters of Nisei will notice a spot on the last page advertising the  キン肉マンⅡ世募集コレクション (Kinnikuman Nisei Choujin Recruitment Collection).  Each week Yudetamago has been featuring two new Choujin submitted by fans, re-drawn and Yude-ized by Nakai-sensei!

What a cool idea to give dedicated fans a chance to submit an original Choujin for a possible appearance in an upcoming chapter of Nisei.

From what I can tell, you submit an original Choujin (drawing + super basic info), along with your personal info to:

Kinnikuman Nisei Choujin Boshuu  (キン肉マンⅡ世募集コレクション)
2-5-10 Hitotsubashi Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo

If you character is selected you will receive a Kinnikuman Nisei portrait, a neato T Shirt + a permanent place in Kinniku history!

As far as the disclaimer goes, it does say something along the lines of by submitting your drawing, you are releasing and relinquishing all claims and rights to the character, which will become property of Shueisha and Yudetamago etc.  I have no other advice or insights into this process other than what I have posted here... sorry.

While I am not sure if they are even accepting submissions from outside of Japan,  I thought I would share the latest member of the Nama Choujin family:

I came up with the idea for making a Gyudon based Choujin as Kinnikuman is such a sucker for for the dish in the original series.  Big thanks to my buddy, Eric Nillia, for doing this killer drawing based on my Gyu-Dome Namakeshi design!

Kinnikuman Nisei ~ 600th Chapter

Congratulations to Yudetamago on completing the 600th chapter of Kinnikuman Nisei!  This is certainly an incredible milestone for both the comic creators and fans alike.  Here's hoping for 100 more!

Kinnikuman x Anime Expo

I am always looking for cool Kinnikuman stories to share on Nama Niku, and need to really thank my friend and fellow Yudekkii, Taka, for hooking me up with this one!

 

Taka hit the recent AX (Anime Expo) and was lucky enough to meet up with some actual Japanese Seiyuu (Japanese voice actors) that worked on Kinnikuman Nisei.

Check out Taka's own words that he wrote up for me on the event:

 

"Anime Expo is the largest anime & manga convention in North America.  And every year they bring in Manga Creators, Musical Guests, Anime Directors, and Seiyuu’s from Japan to be the Guest of Honor’s. 2011 was no exception. 

 

This year AX brought in three Seiyuu’s, Miyuki Sawashiro, Toshiyuki Morikawa & Toshio Furukawa. For Kinnikuman or Kinnikuman Nisei fan’s I should say, the latter two had a hand in the Kinnikuman Nisei anime series. Morikawa-san was the true original voice of Terry the Kid. And Furukawa-san voiced Kinnikuman.

Each GOH has a panel where they talked about their current and or past projects with a Q&A thrown in where some would ask the seiyuu if they could say a line from one of the characters they had voiced. With Furukawa-san, he had talked about his experiences in the business. And one of the cool parts of his panel was that he showed pictures of his huge anime figure collection. And his figure collection only consisted of characters he had voiced. So Kinnikuman was in his collection. Along with like Piccolo from the anime Dragonball and Shin from Hokuto no Ken, just to name a few.

After the panels, there is an autograph sessions for the GOH. I was lucky enough to get an autograph from Morikawa-san and Furukawa-san over the AX weekend. As you can see, both signed a Kinnikuman Nisei related item from my collection.  I do look forward to seeing who AX will be bringing in for 2012."

Breaking Niku News!  Kinnikuman Nisei Kyukyoku Choujin Tag is heading to a website near you!

Starting Monday, May 9th at 10:00 AM, the latest installment of Kinnikuman Nisei will be available online over @ WPB.  The official weekly releases of Nisei will now take place online via WPB, and you will be able to check them out here. 

Small disclaimer for those of you not familiar with WPB aka Weekly Playboy Japan.  While the site does not show any nudity, there are images of scantily clad ladies a plenty.  While this is not a bad thing (lol), it may not be work safe!  Don't want anyone to get canned because of ol' Nama Niku.
